1. Who is responsible for your information

2. Information Doino collects
Doino collects information needed to provide and protect the service, including:
- Account and sign-in information, such as your email address, name when provided by a sign-in provider, account identifier, and authentication provider.
- Profile information, such as your nickname, bio, avatar, interests, social handles, website, and profile visibility settings.
- Events and participation, such as events you create, join, save, or manage; event descriptions, images, dates, locations, tags, participant status, votes, and visibility settings.
- Messages, reports, and moderation information, including participant chat messages, reports, report details, moderation results, and information needed to investigate abuse and enforce community rules.
- Location information, including your device location when you grant foreground permission, the coarse area retained for nearby discovery, and precise locations you deliberately choose for an event or a saved premium discovery location.
- Preferences and notifications, such as language, search radius, notification settings, and push notification tokens.
- Purchase and subscription information, such as products purchased, transaction and receipt status, subscription tier, renewal status, and entitlement history. Payment card details are handled by the app store and are not received by Doino.
- Technical and diagnostic information, such as app and operating-system versions, anonymous installation or session identifiers, startup and route performance, crash reports, error details, related device diagnostics, and network information such as an IP address that may appear in security or server logs.
3. How location is handled
Doino requests location only while the app is in use. It does not request background or always-on location access. When permission is granted, live device coordinates are sent to Doino to calculate nearby events and the relevant service area.
Doino does not retain those precise device coordinates as your last-seen discovery location. Before storage, the server snaps them to a deterministic grid with cells of approximately one kilometre. This coarse location is linked to your account for nearby discovery and notifications and is automatically removed after 30 days without a refresh.
This is separate from locations you deliberately save as part of a feature. Events require a precise meeting location, which may be visible publicly or only to participants according to the event's location-visibility setting. A premium saved discovery location is also retained until you replace, reset, or delete it.
4. How Doino uses information
Doino uses information to:
- Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure accounts.
- Show relevant nearby events and support location-based event creation.
- Enable participation, chat, voting, notifications, and public sharing features.
- Personalize discovery using settings such as interests, location, and search radius.
- Provide subscriptions, validate purchases, prevent purchase fraud, and unlock benefits.
- Review content, investigate reports, prevent abuse, and protect the community.
- Diagnose crashes and errors and improve app reliability and startup performance.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce Doino's terms and community rules.
5. What other users and the public can see
Other users may see information you choose to share through your profile, events, event participation, and participant chats. Event location visibility follows the setting chosen for that event: the precise meeting location may be public or restricted to participants.
Public web profiles are enabled by default. Anyone with the profile link can see your nickname, bio, avatar, join date, hosted and attended counts, profile tags you choose to show, and social or website links when you enable that separate option. You can disable the web profile or hide optional content at any time.
6. Service providers and sharing
Doino shares information with service providers where needed to operate the app. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. Current providers and purposes include:
- Supabase for authentication, databases, file storage, and server-side functions.
- Apple and Google for optional sign-in, app distribution, purchases, notifications, maps, place search, geocoding, and time-zone resolution.
- Google Gemini for automated review of profile, event, location, and image content submitted for moderation.
- RevenueCat for purchase validation, subscription status, entitlements, and subscription analytics. Doino provides RevenueCat with the Doino account identifier used for the purchase, and RevenueCat receives purchase and device transaction data.
- Expo for push notification delivery.
- Sentry for production crash and error diagnostics. Sentry is configured not to send default personally identifiable information and is not used for advertising tracking.
- Pexels to return optional stock-image search results. The search term is sent to Pexels to service the request, but Doino does not attach your account identifier to that provider request or retain the term in its Pexels function logs.
- Resend to deliver operational emails related to reports and moderation.
Doino may also disclose information where required by law, to protect users or the service, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
7. Analytics, advertising, and tracking
Doino uses limited performance and subscription analytics to operate and improve the app. Doino does not use the App Tracking Transparency framework, does not combine app data with third-party data for targeted advertising, and does not sell personal information to data brokers. The app does not display third-party advertising.
Doino's public website does not use advertising cookies or marketing-profiling cookies.
8. Retention and account deletion
Doino keeps information while it is needed to provide the service and for legitimate safety, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, and legal purposes. Retention varies by the type of information and feature. Coarse last-seen discovery location is removed after 30 days without a refresh.
When you request account deletion in the app, your account is immediately made unavailable and scheduled for permanent deletion after 30 days. You can restore the account during that period. After the restoration window, Doino deletes the account and associated account data through its deletion process, except for limited information that must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or abuse-prevention reasons.
Purchase records may also remain with Apple, Google, and RevenueCat according to their legal and financial recordkeeping obligations. See the account deletion page for instructions.
9. Your choices and rights
You can use in-app settings to control:
- Foreground location permission and the location used for discovery.
- Push notifications and nearby-event notifications.
- Event, event-location, and public-profile visibility.
- Profile tags, social links, and website visibility.
- Premium saved-location and discovery settings.
- Account deletion and restoration during the 30-day window.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, withdraw consent, or receive a portable copy. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact feedback@doino.app to make a request. Doino may need to verify your identity before completing it.
10. Legal bases, international processing, and security
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, Doino processes information as necessary to provide the service you request, based on consent where requested, for legitimate interests such as safety and reliability, and to comply with legal obligations.
Doino and its providers may process information in countries outside your own. Where required, appropriate legal safeguards are used for international transfers. Doino uses technical and organizational measures intended to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
11. Children and minors
Doino is not directed to children and is only intended for users who are the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence. Doino does not knowingly allow accounts that do not meet the eligibility requirements in the Terms and Conditions.
If Doino learns that an account is ineligible, it may restrict the account and delete related information where appropriate, subject to legal, safety, and operational obligations.
12. Changes and contact
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Doino's features or privacy practices change. The updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to feedback@doino.app.
